Abstract :
In this paper we study a dual hop urban optical wireless communication (UOWC) system under the combined influence of atmospheric turbulence induced-fading and misalignment-fading (pointing errors). System employs a channel state information-assisted (CSI-assisted) amplify and forward (AF) relay. The atmospheric turbulence channels are modeled by independent but not necessarily identically distributed (i.n.i.d) gamma-gamma fading statistics with pointing errors. We derive the moment generating function (MGF) of the end-to-end signal to noise ratio (SNR) of the system and using it, novel closed-form expressions of outage probability and average symbol error rate (SER) for MPSK modulation schemes are obtained in terms of MeijerG function.
