Abstract :
A linear dipole array mounted on a finite solid conducting cylinder is analysed by the method of moments with piecewise overlapping triangular functions and complex Fourier mode expansions. The port-current vector is obtained by the shaped beam pattern synthesis procedure, and the port voltage vector is computed with mutual coupling included. Currents along the dipoles and the current density on the cylindrical surface are calculated. Active input impedance at each dipole port is evaluated accordingly. The antenna has potential application for mobile communications in urban terrain
