Abstract :
In the 40 years since its inception, Datacom/DB has been one of the most powerful and reliable database management systems available. It is still an industry-leading DBMS for the IBM mainframe environment, used by more than 1,000 mainframe sites around the world. A brief history of Datacom/DB reveals the various companies that have owned it, its evolution, and its companion products.
