Abstract
The physical properties of electrons form the basis of electrical engineering, and a thorough understanding of them is essential for successful investigation in some departments of research. No specific treatment of the subject has appeared in the printed publications of the Institute. It is therefore hoped that what follows will be of service to the membership. No attempt has been made to treat of the conduction of electricity through gases, of the phenomena of radioactivity, nor of electrolytic conduction, in all of which the electron plays an important part.
