  • Abstract
Biographical items included in this paper are based on the original Gary Stix\´s article published in Scientific American. Here, a look of the professional accomplishments of Emeritus Professor Dr. David A. Huffman, IEEE Fellow, who made pioneering contribution in information theory and specifically for his role in developing coding theory is taken. However, it is evident that Huffman was born as a scientist in his mind as well as an artist in his soul. He never tried to patent an invention from his work. He received other compensation as Huffman coding was often included in textbooks on data communications and other digital arts. He concentrated his efforts on education, and besides his brilliant contributions in various fields, he will be remembered for his famous quote "My products are my students.".
