Abstract :
A microcomputer-controlled testing and performance evaluation scheme for a DC motor is described. A 64 K Z-80-based NEC microcomputer is employed as the main controller of the scheme. The scheme conducts suitable tests, evaluates the performance of the motor and monitors the performance characteristics on a graphics plotter. The usefulness of the scheme is realised by comparing the characteristics with those obtained from conventional laboratory-based experimental methods. The scheme requires a limited interaction of the operator during testing
