Abstract :
The effective and efficient application of manufacturing technologies is a key success factor for producing companies. Especially emerging technologies offer a competitive potential. However, a certain maturity has to be attained for successful application in the manufacturing environment. To plan the timing of this application properly the development of the maturity has to be forecasted precisely. The methodology presented in this paper combines the detailed assessment of the current maturity and a quantitative forecast based on patent and publication data.
