Abstract :
This paper aims at increasing the understanding of various dimensions and patterns of industrial maintenance innovations on the basis of analyzing the state of the art in the current literature and empirical observations from the conducted case studies. The results show that maintenance innovation studies as a part of industrial service business research have emerged and the nature of reported types and patterns of maintenance innovation have been moving from the focused technical studies towards more holistic asset management studies. The multi-dimensionality of maintenance innovations are illustrated based on the practical examples. The study serves as a basis to the future research agenda and is also shedding light on the trends affecting the managerial development of industrial maintenance.
