An optical 3R regenerator is demonstrated at 20 Gbit/s using a polarisation-independent, all-optical decision gate realised by a monolithically integrated Michelson interferometer based on semiconductor optical amplifiers. The bit error ratio and jitter suppression capabilities are analysed
