Abstract :
The authors report a new transmission scheme in which bandwidth-weighted TDM and WDM signals are optimised against dispersion of a transmission fibre. Using a wideband optical amplifier, simultaneous transmission of 40 Gbit/s TDM signals and 4 channel ×20 Gbit/s WDM signals is successfully demonstrated
