Abstract :
A fast motion estimation method for 2D triangular mesh based image coding is presented. To estimate the motions of image sequences, this method is based on the combination of optical flow equation, affine transform and fast iteration using a multiple linear regression model. The method proposed has significantly reduced computational cost compared with conventional 2D triangular mesh based image coding, without producing any additional degradation in the quality of the reconstructed image
