Abstract :
We have designed, developed, and demonstrated a wavelength converter based on a ridge-type annealed proton-exchanged waveguide on periodically poled MgO-doped stoichiometric LiNbO3 for the optical communication systems. By optimizing the fabrication conditions of an annealed proton-exchanged ridge waveguide, the conversion efficiency of -1.7 dB is demonstrated for the C-L band conversion in cascaded difference frequency generation wavelength conversion experiments.
