Abstract :
The authors demonstrate 1.5 Gbit/s/channel error-free (bit error rate <10-13) on-chip operation of unpackaged multiple wavelength photonic integrated VCSEL laser diode emitter arrays for short-haul (⩽300 m) multimode fibre wavelength-division multiplexing applications. The observed performance has been mainly limited by our simple coaxial probe and receiver bandwidth
