Abstract :
The relations between generalised beams with different parameters that satisfy the paraxial wave equation are investigated by using the formula for Hermite polynomials and that for generalised Laguerre polynomials. It is found that the generalised beam is represented by a finite number of other generalised beams with different parameters. The adjoint functions to the generalised beam functions are also discussed briefly.
