Abstract
It is shown how 16 wavelengths can be reused to support 59049 nodes in a single, transparent, multiaccess fabric using only fixed wavelength devices and proven, existing technologies. The fabric can serve as a backbone for interconnecting telephone central offices, data networks or massively parallel processors.
