Abstract :
This paper discusses about omerta which is the code of silence developed within the professions. One definition of omerta is "the obligation never, under any circumstances, to apply for justice to the legal authorities and never to assist in any way in the detection of crimes committed". In the crime world, the penalty for violating the code of silence is death.
