Abstract :
The fabrication of a multiplexing coupler for all-fibre 1550 nm amplifier or laser applications is reported. As opposed to classical devices having sinusoidal spectral response adjusted for two multiplexed wavelengths, the proposed WDM coupler fundamental mode transmission is flat in the wavelength region below 1000 nm thus allowing the use of any pumping wavelength in this domain.
