Abstract :
We developed two complementary methods for determination of the current in the superconducting tape of unlimited length. First method is based on calculation of the local magnetic moment of the remanent magnetization in superconductors, and the second one - on determination of the local transport current redistribution near the defective region in the superconducting tape. The results of experimental application of these methods for the analysis of current distribution in real fragments of high temperature superconductor (HTSC) tapes are presented. It is shown that the spatial inhomogeneity of the critical current in HTSC tapes leads to a redistribution of the currents near the various defects. This can be used to find out the type and parameters of these defects.
