Abstract :
The use of discharge lamps for television studio lighting is discussed from the point of view of the lamp engineer. The special lighting problems associated with broadcast television are considered, and various types of discharge lamp, potentially of use in television studios, are briefly discussed. Three lighting fittings designed for studio lighting are described.
