Abstract :
The authors present an efficiently combined structure of a smart antenna and a partial interference canceller (IC). Two methods are proposed to estimate proper fractional weights for the partial IC. The first method improves the performance by preventing performance degradation of the IC owing to incorrect symbol decision using adaptive fractional weights. The second method improves performance by reducing the degrading effect of the partial IC, using modified fractional weights. Simulation results show that the proposed methods outperform a combined structure based on weight correlation
