Abstract :
Many predict that the decades to come will be the "age of biology." Just as the 20th century development of electrical engineering technologies such as field effect transistors, digital computers, and fiber optics enabled the information age, many are predicting that the convergence of computing, biology, and nanotechnology will bring about revolutions in our understanding of diseases and other biological phenomena. As a consequence, humans will emerge better equipped than ever to deal with the diseases and conditions that have ailed us.
