Abstract
The transient response of the field radiated from electric dipole sources and microstrip lines with arbitrary time waveforms is analyzed. By using the three-dimensional Fourier transform of the spectral dyadic Green´s function, relative to the integrated structure, an analytical closed-form solution is obtained and equivalent circuits for the analysis of the transient phenomena in the far-field region are derived. Numerical examples are provided to obtain noticeable insights to the behavior of planar circuits working under Gaussian pulsed excitation
