Abstract :
An approximate analytic expression has been obtained for the eigenmode of an empty annular stable resonator under the condition that the thickness of the annular laser beam is sufficiently smaller than its mean radius. It has also been shown that the annular stable resonator may be designed using standard methods which are used in the design of the conventional stable resonator.<>
