Abstract :
We propose a complementary decoder based on polarization modulation for the spectrum amplitude coded-optical code division multiple access (SAC-OCDMA) passive optical network and experimentally demonstrate its decoding performance for the first time. The experiment result verifies that the decoder can achieve decoding and complementary decoding simultaneously for balanced detection in the SAC-OCDMA system. The eye diagrams and bit error rate measurement show that it can eliminate the multiple access interference at the high code weight.
