Abstract :
Arguments over the cause of human behavior - genetic or environmental - are difficult to arbitrate. Our genes constrain who we are, but our environment influences how we act. It is difficult to tell whether genetics or environment is the root of any behavior. Even if a behavior is genetic, should it then be tolerated? “My genes made me do it” is not a very good defense for bad behavior.
