Abstract :
Stimulated Brillouin scattering is used as a narrowband amplifier to demodulate and amplify FSK signals at bit rates up to 250 Mbit/s. Gain of as much as a factor of 1000 is obtained for a pump over of 12 mW. Both pump and signal lasers are simple AlGaAs lasers
