Abstract :
In this paper we report on an initial study of γ-Fe2 O3 and CrO2 dispersions as determined by pulse field magnetometry. Comparison with VSM measurements, in which the magnetic field is applied for several seconds, shows that the adverse effects of the magnetic field on the dispersion microstructure may, to a large extent, be mitigated by the use of pulsed fields. Remanence curves are used to determine switching field distributions and to determine the quality of the dispersion
