Abstract
In the paper the iron loss change, due to the modulation technique, in soft magnetic materials, supplied by single phase PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) inverters, is analyzed. Experimental tests on non oriented, oriented and amorphous materials are reported. The specific iron losses vs the flux density, for the two modulation techniques which are practically used in industrial converters, are presented for each analysed material
