Abstract :
A new fast local motion estimation (ME) method is proposed for the two-stage estimation algorithm of global and local motions. The local motion part is extracted from the block motion used in the global ME and it is used as an initial motion vector in the local ME, resulting in a remarkable reduction of the search range for the local ME
