Abstract :
This letter reports results of high-temperature gas sensing utilizing the porous capillary tubing waveguide we developed recently. The waveguide is essentially a fiber-optic infrared absorption cell which exhibited excellent performance in terms of high-temperature working capability and fast response time. Using this sensor, we have demonstrated carbon monoxide detection at 500??C; the sensor´s response time was estimated to be within several seconds.
