Abstract
A source of intermittent noise in oxide-cathode receiving valves is identified with the presence of variable leakage paths between certain electrodes. The dependence of this phenomenon on valve parameters is discussed and mention is made of an improvement in valve design which inhibits the growth of inter-electrode leakage.
