  • Abstract
Numerical simulation of running characteristics of the superconducting magnetically levitated system has been undertaken. A three-dimensional running simulation program of the bogie motion has been developed to verify the stability in an emergency, that is, in the case of superconducting (SC) coil quenching. The influence of the coil quenching is most pronounced in the SC coil adjacent to the quenched coil. For this SC coil, due to the flux conservation characteristic, its current is changed only 5%. However the levitation and guidance force become about twice and four times as large as those in the normal state respectively
