Abstract :
A dual wavelength self-seeded gain-switched laser diode has been constructed using two fibre Bragg gratings in an external cavity. The output pulses have been characterised using the technique of frequency-resolved optical gating, and exhibit a 1.4 THz intensity modulation and a large negative frequency chirp
