Abstract
Magic spheres augmented by both iron and permanent magnets can be constructed to simultaneously fill all of the stringent requirements for electron beam focusing in certain high-power radiation sources. Such structures are described and compared with unaugmented and singly augmented magic spheres with regard to field strength and uniformity, structural bulk, working volume and sufficient access to the working space
