Abstract
A quadrature multiple RF coil system was developed for use in a vertically polarized NMR imaging system to maximize signal to noise ratio over a given field of view. Conceptual coil conductor patterns were formulated, a theoretical analysis of magnetic field patterns was performed, mutual inductance between coils was calculated and minimized, and Q measurements were quantified. A prototype based on the theoretical work was constructed. Test results with the prototype were acquired to verify the theoretical work performed
