Abstract :
Describes a machine which can transfer the positions of points on an object into a computer by probing it. Once the whole of the object has been probed, the computer can draw images of the object, looking from different angles. The data produced by the machine from the object can be saved onto disc so that different views of the object can be drawn from the same set of data. The machine is entirely controlled by the computer, in order to make the process of digitising an object completely automatic
