Abstract :
Bootstrap methods are presented for constructing s-confidence regions for the s-expected ROCOF (rate of occurrence of failures) of a repairable system. This is based on the work of Cowling, et al. (1996) for the intensity function of a NHPP (nonhomogeneous Poisson process). The method is applied to the operating times of unscheduled maintenance actions for a diesel engine of the USS Grampus given by Lee (1980) and also analyzed by Crowder, et al. (1991)
