Abstract :
The design of an integrated control system using stabilising fins and the rudder for ship roll stabilisation is discussed. Following the description of the mathematical models of typical warship dynamics and wave disturbances, controller designs based on traditional sensitivity analysis in the frequency domain are presented. Simulation results are used to demonstrate the enhanced roll stabilisation which can be achieved by the adoption of the proposed integrated control strategy
