Abstract :
An on-chip X-band branch-line coupler utilising a glass integrated passive device process is proposed. With the help of slow-wave synthesised coplanar waveguides, the proposed hybrid coupler, centred at 9.2 GHz with an operational bandwidth of 17.4%, occupies only 8.5% of the size of its conventional counterpart. The design concept, synthesis approach, and experimental results are investigated and discussed.
