Abstract :
Formulation of transient skin effect problems in terms of potentials are presented. In case of a prescribed voltage, a magnetic vector potential and an electric scalar potential and, if the current is given, a current vector potential and a magnetic scalar potential are used. The boundary value problems are numerically solved by means of edge finite element techniques. The analysis of a complicated high power bus bar arrangement is presented as a numerical example.
