Abstract :
A method is described for computing the transient fields in thin conducting sheets which can be incorporated in finite difference and finite element computations. The method is based on the series expansion of functions arising in the one-dimensional analytical solution for the fields, and in principle allows any sought-for accuracy to be modeled by choice of the number and order of the sections used. The method also leads to an improved expression for dissipated power
