Abstract :
We discuss the present state of biomedical infrared imaging in Japan as well as strategies for future growth. We review the systems currently being used here and the extent of their use. We also address the professional and cultural preconceptions that must be overcome in order to increase the international participation of Japanese researchers in collaborative efforts in this field
