Abstract :
In this paper, a method will be presented for simulating the effect of cracks in conducting bodies, in terms of perturbation of the eddy current pattern induced in a specimen. The crack is assumed to be thin, but we remove the usual approximation that no current is allowed to flow through the defect. The resulting mathematical formulation is solved via an integral formulation in terms of a two-component electric vector potential, using superposition. Some non local basis functions based on edge elements are adopted
