Abstract :
Personal computers (PCs) are increasingly being used in industrial applications. Graphical user interface (GUI) software and Windows-based operating systems are proving to be cost-effective, rugged and reliable. This paper describes how these advances have, over the past four years, allowed the successful installation of several human-machine interface (HMI) systems for paper machine winders
