Abstract
In this column, we review recent results in gene regulatory network modeling and discuss various control mechanisms used to modify their cellular dynamics. We subsequently describe a new intervention strategy based on optimal perturbations, which force the network to converge to a desired steady-state distribution of gene regulation.
