Abstract
Using a liquid-crystal Fabry-Perot etalon with multielement electrodes, the authors demonstrated a tunable filter capable of simultaneously filtering many wavelengths in the 1.2-1.6 mu m wavelength region. The configuration is demonstrated by tuning two wavelengths independently by applying different voltages to two electrodes. Each of the passbands could be tuned over the free spectral range (65 nm) with an applied voltage of 1 to 3 V.<>
