O brave new management

Shakespeare´s last play ´The Tempest´ contains his least sympathetic character and his most virtuous heroine. Caliban and Miranda are dramatic foils for each other. Caliban, a deformed savage, shares the island with the 15-year old Miranda and her father Prospero. Within the span of one day (´The Tempest´ is Shakespeare´s only play to conform with the classical ´unities´-the action is confined to one place and one day), the world of Caliban and Miranda changes dramatically. Using this analogy, the author describes how an outdated management ethos can be swept away, leaving a brave new world.
