Abstract
This correspondence considers the problem of signal enumeration and direction finding with a uniform linear array in the presence of correlated wavefronts. The principal contribution is to present the relationships between the physical model (the array steering vectors), the computational model (the signal eigenvectors), and the processed data (the covariance matrices) in a common mathematical framework
