Abstract
The paper is concerned with the synthesis of multi-terminal linear networks without ideal transformers, one terminal being regarded as `earth¿ or `reference¿; thus an (N+1)-terminal network is here an earthed N-port. The new method of synthesis introduced is to increase the order of the open-circuit impedance matrix, by bordering with a suitable set of functions, and to invert the matrix so formed. It is not necessary to factorize the polynomials in the given opencircuit impedance matrix, and the method is not restricted to 2-element-kind networks. Two numerical examples illustrate the procedure.
