Abstract :
This paper presents a new printed switched array antenna suitable for indoor mobile communications. The antenna uses printed active elements and produces either omnidirectional or many directional overlapping patterns. The omni-directionality, is needed in order to implement the collision avoidance algorithms in next generation wireless systems, while directional patterns are needed to effectively confront the problems induced by the noisy indoor channel to the highly demanding wireless applications. An electromagnetic simulation tool was used to evaluate the antenna design
